The IRS' much-anticipated free tax filing software is now online. Direct File is in a pilot phase and available for "simple" tax returns for 2023. CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A shooting on a street in Wyoming's capital Thursday killed one man and wounded two others. The shooting around 2 p.m. in a residential area near restaurants and offices happened about a mile (1.6 kilometers) from the state Capitol, Cheyenne Police Department spokeswoman Alexandra Farkas said. Investigators weren't yet sure what led to the shooting and who the victims were, including whether those wounded were adults, Farkas said. The shooting did not involve police, who declared the scene safe soon after, Farkas said.

A January LendingTree report found that single women who live by themselves are more likely than single men who live by themselves to own a home in 47 of 50 U.S. states. The study also found that single women own 2.71 million more homes than single men, or an average of 12.93% of homes across the 50 states versus 10.22%. 15.34% of owner-occupied households in the state are owned by single women, while the share of households owned by single men is 9.45%. Delaware has the largest share of single women homeowners, according to a recent LendingTree report. Households owned and occupied by single men is 12.74% while its 10.66% for single women.
